Description
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on October 3, 2023, between Central Sanskrit University (CSU), New Delhi, and the Mauritius Sanatan Dharma Temples Federation (MSDTF) to promote academic and cultural cooperation in the fields of Sanskrit and Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS). The MoU outlines collaboration through faculty exchanges, joint research, organization of seminars and conferences, and short-term training programs. A key initiative is the launch of the Purohit Prashikshan Course in Mauritius, designed to standardize Vedic rituals and priestly practices, with curriculum design and certification provided by CSU. The agreement also includes cooperation in publication, resource sharing, and heritage preservation. Both parties commit to advancing holistic education and maintaining the relevance of Sanskrit in the modern global context. This MoU is a landmark step in deepening Indo-Mauritian cultural ties and fostering sustainable knowledge exchange. The agreement is valid for an exceptional period of 65 years.
