Abstract
Description
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed on 5th November 2024 between Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi, and the Spoken Tutorial Project of IIT Bombay, under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The collaboration aims to enhance IT and software skills among students and faculty of CSU’s affiliated campuses through self-learning modules using Free and Open Source Software FOSS like Linux, LaTeX, Java, C/C++, and more. CSU paid ₹2,50,000 as an annual subscription fee covering ten campuses. Spoken Tutorial will provide training resources, manuals, assessments, and certification, along with language customization based on CSU’s suggestions. CSU will coordinate the rollout through a central coordinator, introduce training programs across campuses, and suggest relevant course content. The agreement promotes capacity-building through Faculty Development Programs and aims to boost employability and digital proficiency. The MoU is valid for one year, with provisions for renewal upon mutual consent.
