This report summarizes the events of the inaugural session of the first convocation of Central Sanskrit University held on March 7, 2024, in New Delhi. The President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, graced the occasion and delivered an inspiring address. She highlighted the importance of Sanskrit in preserving India’s rich cultural heritage and promoting national unity. The President noted that Sanskrit has strengthened many Indian languages and plays a crucial role in nurturing cultural pride. She applauded the university’s efforts towards women empowerment, particularly the equal participation of boys and girls among the gold medal winners. Emphasizing moral values, she encouraged students to remain truthful, ethical, and duty-bound. Union Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan expressed gratitude to the President and Prime Minister for their support in promoting Sanskrit through NEP 2020. He described Sanskrit as a language of both tradition and progress and appreciated the university’s role in integrating Sanskrit with Ayurveda and implementing NEP reforms.
